GART for anti-virulence capabilities

Brine shrimp as a low-cost screening platform

Artemia is an excellent model organism to evaluate the anti-virulence effect of QS-degrading/disrupting products. We developed a gnotobiotic Artemia model which allows to investigate these effects without the interference of the ambient microbiota of the rearing environment.

Test your product

  • Products with quorum quenching bacteria
  • Compounds with QS-degrading abilities

Our tests

Our laboratory can perform the following tests:

  • Evaluation of the function of the product by monitoring survival and fitness.
  • Monitoring the in situ activity (bioluminescence) of the pathogen in the gut of the Artemia.
  • Evaluation of compatibility of QS-degrading products with commercial probiotic products (e.g. tests to see if product interferes with colonization of probiotics in gut).
