Marine@UGent and the Doctoral Schools of Ghent University are organising the 5th edition of the Blue Science and Technology Summer Training (Blue S&T). The training will take place at Ostend Science Park, from August 30 till September 10 2021.
With ever-increasing pressure on the marine environment, sustainable growth and management of resources are becoming crucial, yet remain challenging. Collaboration is required on a multidisciplinary level, transcending the boundaries between fundamental science and industry. Maritime industries ranging from fishing, offshore energy and shipping, to tourism are all important stakeholders and have to be considered before making any decisions. At the same time, knowledge from marine scientists, engineers and technicians has to be applied to ensure sustainability.
The Blue S&T will bring together diverse aspects of academic research and businesses, allowing participants to get familiarized with the blue economy and entrepreneurship in its true multidisciplinary context. You will be exposed to a range of viewpoints from different stakeholders and receive hands-on training with innovative technology applied in this sector. Through exciting field trips, you will get a chance to meet industry professionals on site, and build and strengthen your network.
If you are passionate about ocean science and the blue economy, and the prospect of diving into two weeks of innovative learning excites you, then register for the Blue S&T now! Working professionals, students and young researchers are all welcome in our Summer Training.
By joining the Blue S&T community, you will get acquainted with diverse academic backgrounds and cultures, further enriching your network, and leaving you with an ocean of memories.
