Ocean governance is about opportunities and threats for a sustainable management of oceans and seas, as expressed in inter alia SDG14. Research within the Maritime Institute encompasses the exploitation of natural resources, the prevention of pollution, the protection of marine biodiversity, maritime spatial planning, maritime safety and security and maritime economics.
Research subtopics are:
