Koen Sabbe
Prof. Dr. Koen Sabbe is a biologist at the Protistology and Aquatic Ecology (PAE) laboratory where he studies the biodiversity and ecology of aquatic microbial ecosystems. His research is mainly focused on understanding the processes that drive the assembly and functioning of phototrophic microbial biofilms in estuarine and marine environments, including interactions between microalgae and their microbiomes. He holds extensive expertise in the field of diatom biodiversity and biology.
